They would also rather ask for help from friends, websites, partners, social media and even family before consulting a GP.

Michael Eder, of Student Beans, said: “Google can be helpful, but it isn’t always accurate and it can lead to people jumping to conclusions.

“Students need to be better informed about the opportunities available for sexual health information and support.”
