JACK CALL OF DUTY
JACK BUTLAND insists footballers have a duty to help their communities in the wake of the coronavirus crisis.
The Stoke keeper, 27 (below) said: “We have a responsibility as players and public figures to be role models and help out where we can. That’s massively important to me and also to the club.
“There’s a really strong bond with the Stoke community, which is going to have to continue.”
With several high-profile stars in trouble for flouting social distancing, he urged footballers to be more aware of the consequences of their actions.
Butland added: “I try to be a role model. We have a job in not just playing football, but being a supportive member of the community and a role model for everyone as well.”
