LUKE Skywalker star Mark Hamill thanked Star Wars fans for an “extraordinary journey”.

The actor, 68, appeared in six of the nine main movies, including the 1977 original.

He retired the role in 2019’s Rise Of Skywalker.

Luke tweeted his nearly four million followers: “Star Wars is about family, and that is what we all have become.”
