EPIC RETURN ON THE CARDS FOR AL Second dose of gameshow nostalgia lined up

-

ALAN Carr’s Epic Gameshow is set to return for a second series.

The format has been topping the ratings on Saturday nights.

And after a string of secret meetings, ITV chiefs plan to bring it back next year.

An insider said: “Everyone knew the show had all the ingredients to be a hit, but it’s done even better than expected.

“Bosses have decided to make a second series before the first one has even finished airing. It was a no-brainer.”

Epic Gameshow has put five classics back on telly – Play Your Cards Right, The Price Is Right, Take Your Pick, Strike It Lucky and Bullseye. Producers also roped in celebrities including Ruth Langsford, The Chase’s

Shaun Wallace and Ore Oduba. The dose of nostalgia has had more than four million of us hooked.

It’s wiping the floor with the competition on Saturday nights including the BBC’s Peter

Crouch: Save Our Summer. Funnyman Alan is now set to be offered a “mega-money” deal to return as host.

Bosses are confident he will go for it because he loves the show.

Our insider said: “The show could continue without Alan, but the hope is he’ll return. He has been integral to the show becoming a hit so quickly.

“ITV execs see Alan as one of their top names. After the success of Epic Gameshow they plan to offer him other shows.”

Earlier this year, Alan said he was thrilled with how well filming had gone.

He said: “We’ve filmed them all so I know they’re good. That’s why I’m telling everyone. If they were sh** I wouldn’t.”
