DENISE Van Outen is set to return to Celebrity Gogglebox, Hot TV can reveal.

The presenter has signed a big-money deal to record another series of the hit show alongside her fiance Eddie Boxshall.

A show insider told us: “Denise loves being part of the show, so she’s really excited to be doing another series.

“It has been brilliant for her relationship with Eddie. It’s a chance to do a project together and have a giggle.

“During the lockdowns they have spent so much time watching TV and they often pretend they’re filming for Celebrity Gogglebox for a laugh.”

Denise and Eddie will be telly addicts once again when filming for the series starts in May.

It will be her first high-profile job since she was forced to pull out of Dancing On Ice due to injury.

The popular star is still recovering after dislocating her shoulder and fracturing bones.

A source close to her told us: “Denise has lost a lot of work due to the pandemic, so getting to do more Celebrity Gogglebox is a godsend.

“It is perfect for her because she can film it at home, and her injury won’t pose an issue.”

If I had a choice between pigging out on the sofa or skating on live TV, I know which I’d pick.

Celebrity Gogglebox bosses are in talks with a string of other major names ahead of the new series. They hope they are close to convincing Rylan Clark-Neal and his mum Linda to return for another stint.

Another show insider explained: “Producers know it is really important to get good names.

“Signing up Denise is a great start. They are hopeful Rylan will sign on the dotted line too.”

This year’s series will be the third run of the show’s celebrity spin-off.

It is expected to be the biggest yet at 10 episodes – making it almost double the length of previous ones.

The Gogglebox franchise is a ratings hit for Channel 4, with the programme pulling in around six million viewers.

So they really need to splash the cash to get Rylan’s wonderful mum back on the show.

FIRE crews pounced when a cat got stuck in a tree – with its owner.

The RSPCA was called when the poor puss was spotted in Rochdale, Lancs.

But when the owner went up the tree to get it, the cat managed to get down by itself – and he was left trapped.

The RSPCA’s Stephen Wickham said: “This is only the second time I’ve been to a cat rescue where the owner got stuck up the tree too.”

TELEVISION travel guru Simon Reeve has told how Mr. T helped save his life.

The Incredible Journeys star said he sensed “the Grim Reaper knocking” after being struck down with malaria in Gabon in 2006.

Simon was hallucinating so much he thought

Mr. T – who played B.A. Baracus in The A-Team – was “watching over him”.

He said: “Malaria felt like the Grim Reaper had come knocking. “When I was vomiting blood in Gabon, initially I thought I had Ebola, so I actually felt pleased when it was malaria.

“Then World War Three broke out in my body. I was hallucinating that Mr. T was watching over me.

“Nothing can go wrong when Mr. T is there. I don’t remember much from several days afterwards.” The dad of one also said he loved eating sheep eyeballs – but that bull penis was “too gristly”.

He added: “Penis soup is gristly and chewy. I ate it in Madagascar.

“It wasn’t spectacular, but it was a memory to last a lifetime.”

He added: “Roasted sheeps’ eyeballs are delicious and even buffalo poo was surprisingly good.”
