Amazon plots sold online

PARTS of Brazil’s Amazon rainforest are being sold illegally on Facebook, a BBC investigation revealed.

Some plots for sale on the website’s MarketPlace are as large as 1,000 football pitches and include land reserved for indigenous people. Ricardo Salles, the

Brazilian environment minister, said the country had “zero tolerance” for environmental crimes.

Facebook has refused to halt the trade.
