Al crash in Saudi

- FORMULA E

BRITAIN’S Alex Lynn was rushed to hospital last night after being involved in a horror crash.

The second Saudi Arabia E-Prix of the week was red-flagged after Lynn’s car was flipped upside down and skidded across the track at high speed.

He was conscious when he was removed from the car. The race was brought to an early end, with Sam Bird handed the win.

BAYERN MUNICH sensation Jamal Musiala has probably done Gareth Southgate a favour. Musiala, 17 (left) has snubbed England in favour of pledging his international future to Germany instead.

Three Lions boss Southgate would never admit it but he might just be breathing a sigh of relief because it will be one less selection headache to deal with when it comes to picking his squad for this summer’s Euros.

Southgate has attacking players coming at him from all angles.

Injuries permitting, he will have the following to choose from: Harry Kane, Raheem Sterling, Marcus Rashford, Phil Foden, Jack Grealish, Jadon Sancho, Mason Mount, James Maddison, Mason Greenwood, Callum Hudson-Odoi, Tammy Abraham and Harvey Barnes.

Throw in Jesse Lingard and Dele Alli and Southgate finds himself in what can only be described as one of the sweetest pickles any England boss has ever faced.

It will have an even bigger bearing on our chances.

Covid situations, injury situations – winning, the strength mentally. “Today we were not going to paint anything beautiful, so just take the points. We didn’t create much but we didn’t concede anything either. “What we have done so far is unusual, an exception. Normally you drop points, a draw, defeats, that is the normality.

“Three seasons ago we got 100 points, we were unstoppable. Every season is a new chapter and what you have done in the past counts for nothing.

“Everyone is so committed, every player knows he has to play well or someone will take his position.”
