Luxury Holidays: How To Get Away This Year 8pm, Channel 4

Holidays... Remember those? After being in lockdown for the best part of a year, what the vast majority of us probably want more than ever before is a change of scenery, and yet it’s the one thing we can’t have – yet.

However, with hopes of an easing of restrictions, Sabrina Grant investigates the likelihood of us enjoying a break before the summer is out. She also wants to give us the lowdown on where we might be able to go – as long as we have plenty of money to spend on something lavish.

Among the highlights are luxurious trips both at home and abroad, including British destinations that are off the beaten track.

There’s also an insight into cruises and which countries might be willing to greet British tourists later in the year.

Gogglebox 9pm, Channel 4

New series of this ever-popular programme tend to come thick and fast, with only a brief few weeks between runs. Nevertheless, we still miss the armchair critics when they’re off our screens, so it was great to see them back where they belong last week.

They certainly had plenty to say about what’s on the box at the moment, and we can expect more caustic, hilarious and bonkers moments again in the latest edition. As ever, Channel 4 is keeping quiet about which programmes will feature, but we’re guessing Dancing On Ice, which returned after a week-long break, will be high on the agenda, as well as the new run of Ant And Dec’s Saturday Night Takeaway.

Expect a few hidden gems to make the Goggleboxers’ playlist too. ★★★★★

Casualty 8.20pm, BBC One

The heroics displayed by NHS staff during the coronavirus pandemic suggests that the goings-on in Casualty really are very silly indeed – the characters simply wouldn’t have time to get up to all sorts of mischief.

Nevertheless, we’re still hooked on their shenanigans – and there are plenty of them on view in the latest episode, including a supposedly friendly bet that takes place between Rosa and Charlie. Instead of petering out, it ends up getting out of control.

Meanwhile, Jacob’s new relationship drives Connie to distraction and results in her lashing out. But the main focus is on Jan, who is ordered to steal drugs and smuggle them into prison – or else. The death of a patient makes it possible, but the responsibility weighs heavy on her shoulders.
