More jab pain for women

-

WOMEN and those under 40 are more likely to suffer side effects from Covid vaccines including “aches and pains”, an expert said.

Dr William Schaffner revealed that medics are now trying to work out why.

He said: “Women and younger people have more local reactions – a sore arm, a day of not feeling so well, or aches and pains.

“People wonder if it’s because women have more oestrogen but that remains to be studied,” added Dr Schaffner, an infectious diseases specialist based at Nashville’s Vanderbilt University in the US.

“The short answer is there’s got to be reasons for it, but we don’t know what they are.”

However, experts are quick to point out that a reaction to the jab is no indication of how vulnerable someone is to the actual virus.

In fact, another doctor said having side effects is a good thing.

A FURTHER 40 people had died of Covid-19 as of yesterday, bringing the UK total to 127,080. There have been 2,589 more lab-confirmed cases in the UK, bringing the total to 4,368,045.
