‘Optimism’ for Maddie answers
PROSECUTORS say they “remain optimistic” they will solve the Madeleine McCann mystery.
Hans Christian Wolters says a German probe into prime suspect Christian Brueckner, 44, is running “at full speed”.
And he said a new TV documentary “may well help to clear up the case”.
Mr Wolters said: “Even if the public does not notice it much, our investigations in the Maddie case continue to run at full speed. We still assume Christian B killed Madeleine.”
Next month marks 14 years since the three-yearold disappeared from Praia da Luz, Portugal.
Brueckner is serving seven years after raping a 72-year-old woman in the town in 2005.
The Danish TV probe will be screened in the accused’s native Germany on April 28.
Mr Wolters added: “We remain optimistic and hopeful that we will be able to solve the crime.”
