Arrest after body found

A MAN has been arrested on suspicion of murder after the body of a woman was found in water at a country park.

Police were called on Friday morning following reports a woman’s body had been discovered in Brandon Country Park in Suffolk.

Suffolk Police said they detained a 46-year-old at around 12.15pm.

He was taken to Bury St Edmunds Police Investigation Centre for questioning, where he remained last night.

Detectives were said to be treating the woman’s death as “an isolated incident”.

Detective Supt Andy Smith said: “The investigation is in its early stages but we suspect the parties involved are known to each other, with no wider threat to the community.”
