Mini on track with special EV
Mini has built a one-off electric vehicle for use as the safety car in the FIA Formula E series. The firm says this great-looking machine shows the possibilities of combining the Mini E electric powertrain with the JCW (John Cooper Works) brand.
Called the Pacesetter it features aerodynamic aides such as side skirts, spats and spoilers that have all been created using 3D printing from recycled carbon fibre.
I wouldn’t be at all surprised if we see a commercial version of this car arriving in showrooms in the next couple of years. The all-electric hot hatch is surely on its way.
