Painting a sorry picture of Spurs

-

WHO would have thought that a lovable and placid Old English sheepdog could leave a club like Tottenham looking barking mad?

Well that’s what happened last week when Dulux christened their new sponsorship deal with Spurs with a series of Twitter posts mocking the London outfit. Hands up who didn’t chuckle. The company made jibes about Tottenham’s questionable defence,

as well as the club’s empty trophy cabinet following their 13-year silverware drought.

The tweets were deleted and a grovelling apology followed, but not before the online trolls had pounced to leave Spurs a laughing stock.

It was the last thing they

needed following the stinging 3-1 home defeat to Manchester United and Jose Mourinho’s unedifying ruck with rival Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.

Not to mention Paul Pogba’s outspoken attack on Mourinho (left), accusing him of turning his back on his players for no reason when the pair worked together at United.

But when all the dust settles, Spurs’ decision to strike a deal with Dulux might feel like one that’s dripping with common sense.

Let’s be honest, Mourinho has made watching paint dry far more entertaining than anything his side has managed to serve up this season.
