‘Rami is the man of my dreams’
Gemma Collins on her incredible weight loss and being in love
The GC has had her fair share of heartbreak over the years, but the Queen of Essex finally seems happy after reigniting her romance with Rami Hawash. “I’m totally in love, hun. This is it,” Gemma, 40, tells us confidently over the phone before revealing she’d love to get engaged again to Rami, 45, now that they are in the“right place”.
The couple were planning to marry in 2013 but ended their relationship the following year.They rekindled their romance recently, following Gemma’s split from James ‘Arg’ Argent, 33, and she says Rami is the“man of her dreams”.
The former TOWIE star has made no secret of wanting to become a mum and she says her three-and-a-half stone weight loss should make it “easier” to get pregnant.
After experiencing a
“very sad”miscarriage during lockdown last year, Gemma is now more determined than ever to fulfil her dream.“I just want to be a mum, hun. I’m focused on that right now,”she says.
Here, Gemma opens up about being more body confident, why sex is more satisfying when you hit your forties and her dream of becoming a mum...
Hey, Gemma! A lot of fans said you look like Pamela Anderson in a recent selfie. What do you make of that?
Move over, Pam! I’ll be running up that beach soon. No, it made me laugh. God, I’d love to look like Pamela Anderson.
You look amazing after your weight loss. How are you feeling?
I feel great. I lost the weight because I want to have a baby. I’m trying to get myself in the best possible shape so I can get pregnant a lot easier. Just because you’re overweight, it doesn’t mean you’re not happy. People come in all shapes and sizes. I’ve always accepted myself for me.
Is your sex life better in your forties?
Sex is different for everyone. In your twenties you’re still learning, experiencing different partners and realising everyone’s different. In your thirties, you’re more confident about saying,“This is what I want.”And in your forties you know yourself and what you want.
Things seem to be going well with Rami. What’s different this time?
He loves me for me and he respects me as a woman. He absolutely adores me and is just so celebratory of me. Rami is not intimidated by me and doesn’t try to compete with me in my career. He is very sure of himself as a man. He loves me deep down and he’s never horrible. I’m totally in love, hun. This is it. Before, it was the right person, wrong time. I had too many other distractions, whereas now we’re both in the right place in our lives. He’s the man of my dreams. I love him very much.
‘I just want to be a mum – I’m focused on that right now’
Do you exercise often?
I work out every day but I don’t do anything that’s too strenuous. I walk and I use my weights – nothing major. Exercising keeps me motivated because it’s like an addiction.You get used to feeling better about yourself and it becomes part of a routine. I wake up, train for an hour and start my day.
What is next for the GC?
I’m busy with filming projects at the moment. I have something coming out in October. But I just want to be a mum. I’m focused on that right now.
You’re also working with Durex’s Roadmap To Sexual Satisfaction, can you tell us a bit about that?
It’s all about sexual satisfaction this summer. It is so important now, after being locked up indoors for so long! We haven’t been able to socialise, so this should be the summer of love. No matter what size or whether you want a thinner or a thicker condom, Durex’s range of protection is incredible. I think it’s important for people to stay safe, whether you’re in a relationship, dating someone new or having one night of fun.
