KILLER INCEL WORSHIPPED MOVIE JOKER
GUN nut Jake Davison went on his killing spree after likening himself to Joaquin Phoenix’s Joker.
The monster, who shot dead five people in Plymouth including a three-year-old girl, said online he knew the psycho clown’s pain “too well”.
Furious campaigners are demanding to know why Davison was allowed to own a gun.
The 22-year-old, who went on the rampage on Thursday, said his “vile” mum, poverty, loneliness and stretches of joblessness made him like unhinged entertainer Arthur Fleck in the 2019 Joker film.
The movie was slammed as “incel bait”. Incels – short for “involuntary celibates” – are men convinced they have no chance of having sex, and blame women.
On his now-deleted YouTube account, under the name Professor Waffle, Davison posted: “I know this feeling too well being in a government council estate without a car walking until my shoes had holes, no friends no social group and coming home to a vile horrible mother every night.
“I also know what it’s like to have no job at all for a long period with our only escape being a computer for years.”
Davison’s post, dated two weeks ago, was responding to a clip in Joker that shows Phoenix dancing after shooting three boys and knifing another.
Campaigners are asking why Davison’s licence and weapon were returned to him last month, having been revoked after an alleged assault last year.
Labour leader Sir Keir Starmer said: “How on earth did he get a gun licence in the first place? What back-up checks were done?”
Former top prosecutor Nazir Afzal said Davison was “exactly the type of person the authorities should be keeping an eye on” with a police watchlist.
