STAR ACES CITY PALS AT PING PONG

- EXCLUSIVE by

FOOTBALLER Jack Grealish has put his new Manchester City teammates in a spin – by walloping them at table tennis.

The midfield ace became Britain’s most expensive player earlier this month in a £100million switch from Aston Villa to the Premier League champions.

And he has wasted no time in showing that his skills with a ping-pong bat are just as dazzling as his moves on the pitch.

Pep Guardiola’s squad enjoy regular table tennis sessions at the training ground and team hotel to relax before games.

Stars Ilkay Gundogan, Kyle Walker and Bernardo Silva are considered to be the players to beat among City’s impressive stable of “wiff-waff” masters.

But £250,000-a-week Grealish, 25, has quickly elevated himself to the top of City’s table tennis league.

A source said: “Jack is starting to feel right at home at City – he really likes the atmosphere around the training ground. There are games of table tennis and a pool table, which has helped to break the ice with those lads he didn’t really know beforehand.

“A few of the lads at City fancy themselves at table tennis, but Jack has laid down an early marker.

“He’s just one of those people naturally good at most sports.”

City ace Phil Foden, 21, has formed a close friendship with Grealish, with both England men constantly ribbing each other over their sporting prowess and choices in designer gear.

We revealed previously that Stockportborn midfielder Foden is a dead-eye at darts after he played his team-mates.

The source added: “They are great mates, but it will be interesting to see if Jack wants to take Phil on at the oche.”
