Jackpot for 20p punter

A LUCKY punter scooped more than £6,200 after placing two crazy bets – including one at just 20p each way.

The anonymous customer, from the West Midlands, struck lucky after placing the bets in a BoyleSports shop on Wednesday.

The man placed a 20p each-way Yankee and £2 each-way singles on four horses at York and Carlisle, amounting to a total stake of £20.40.

In a few hours, the customer saw their small stake transformed into a total of £6,271.72.

Sarah Kinsella, a spokesman for BoyleSports, said: “We must send huge congratulations to our West Midlands customer who took us for £6,271.72 this week.

“They deserve every penny and we wish them luck with their winnings.”
