Kapp’s a good weekend
MARIZANNE KAPP produced an explosive bowling spell as Oval Invincibles were crowned women’s first Hundred champions.
The South African star stole the show with an outstanding all-round display hitting a rapid 26 and taking 4-9 in her side’s 48-run triumph over Southern Brave.
After Invincibles amassed 121-6 off their 100 balls, Kapp (right) completed the victory by bowling Lauren Bell as they dismissed their rivals for just 73 in what was a one-sided affair at Lord’s.
Invincibles captain Dane van Niekerk, who also led by example with the bat where she was joint top scorer with 26, said: “It feels fantastic to be the first side to win this trophy.
“It is a special moment for all those who have given so much to the cause.
“We came to win the trophy and we got it.”
