Lage: Pace ace Traore must speed up on goals
BRUNO LAGE has given Adama Traore licence to terrorise the Premier League – and told him to up his game. Wolves’ new boss believes the Spain international, 25, is one of his best players, claiming that he wants to “protect” both him and Manchester
United target Ruben Neves. Traore’s blistering pace has caused problems for top-flight defenders but he scored just three times in 47 appearances for the Black County club last season.
Last week he was the stand-out attacking performer during Wolves’ 1-0 defeat at Leicester but failed to find the net.
And Lage (left) has told the former Barcelona man he wants to see improvement.
He said: “The most important thing is to create chances. Adama created a lot of chances. We deserved to score last week.
“He can play anywhere in the front six. As a winger, he knows what to do.
“He can improve, playing inside, linking with players, creating chances and situations when he goes up against the goalkeeper.”
