- EXCLUSIVE by FELICITY CROSS felicity.cross@dailystar.co.uk

JAKE Quickenden tore his bicep off the bone during a challenge on Celebrity SAS: Who Dares Wins.

It was agony – but the reality star says being forced to leave the show hurt more.

Fans will see Jake being taken away in an ambulance in tonight’s episode.

The freak accident left him needing surgery and months of rehabilitation.

The 33-year-old said: “The realisation that I couldn’t go on any further was a nightmare.

“It hurt, but I wasn’t bothered about the pain. I was just so annoyed that it meant my time was done and my journey was finished. I’m just absolutely devastated.”

Jake suffered the horror injury during a challenge during which he had to pull himself on to a boat at sea.

He got on the craft but instantly knew he was in trouble and screamed in pain before medics rushed to help.

Jake revealed: “I ruptured my pec muscle and my bicep, so the tendons were torn straight off the bone.

“I had to have them stretched back to my shoulder. I have got four pins in my shoulder now where they are all pinned back into place.

“After the operation, I had no feeling in my arm at all for 48 hours. It was like my arm was totally gone.”

But the devastating injury hasn’t put him off attempting to complete the course in the future. Jake added: “I actually said to the producer straight away – when I was in the ambulance – that I want to do it next year.

“I was just really annoyed that I didn’t get to test myself mentally in the interrogation.

“I imagine that will always play on my mind now – that I didn’t get the chance to show that I was mentally strong.”

Jake isn’t the only famous face to leave the show injured.
