It’s Matt finish as Rovers go clear

-

JAMILLE MATT’S header sent Forest Green back to the top of the League Two after they beat

Northampton 1-0 in a forgettable encounter.

Clear-cut chances were few and far between but Rovers ace Matt (below) struck in the

77th minute to snatch all three points.

Goals from Aaron Drinan, Tom James, Theo Archibald and Harry Smith sent Leyton Orient up to third after a 4-0 victory over

Oldham,

who now sit rock-bottom.

They do so after Sutton

claimed their first win of the season, coming from behind to edge out

10-man Stevenage 2-1. Elliott List opened the scoring in the 55th minute but a double from Richie Bennett either side of the hour mark – his second goal coming from the spot after Terence Vancooten was sent off for handling in the box – gave newly promoted Sutton their first triumph.

Matt Jay struck in the

41st and 46th minutes while Joshua Key and Timothee Dieng were also on target as ruthlessly brushed aside

Scunthorpe 4-0.

George Miller scored twice on his home debut and Ash Taylor also found the net to help

Walsall to a 3-1 win over

Mansfield, who bagged a late consolation through Danny Johnson. Ben Garrity was at the double for

Port Vale as they held on for a 2-1 win at Swindon, who had equalised through Tyreece Simpson, while Nick Tsaroulla’s last-minute goal saw

Crawley edge out

Carlisle.

Carlisle star Jon Mellish cancelled out Tom Nichols’ opener before Tsaroulla struck.

Matty Lund also struck as Salford claimed a 1-0 win over Bradford.

Jamie Sterry’s goal ushered Hartlepool to a 1-0 victory over Bristol Rovers and Danny Cashman struck as

Rochdale beat

Tranmere.
