Morrissey tormented by spook
SINGER Morrissey was plagued by a noisy ghost at his mansion.
The star said the ghoul used to keep him awake at night by making a din.
He spoke about it to comedy duo Bob Mortimer and Vic Reeves when they visited him at Hook End Manor in Oxfordshire.
Bob, 62, said: “He was extremely quiet and reserved, only coming to life when talking about a ghost he believed walked up and down the stairs at night making a racket and disturbing his sleep.”
Morrissey had invited Bob and Vic, whose real name is Jim Moir, to sing backing vocals on a cover of The Jam’s hit That’s Entertainment.
In his new book And Away, Bob admitted the former Smiths star seemed to enjoy being with the ghost more than him.
He said: “After Jim had finished his vocals, Morrissey went up to bed, clearly preferring the company of his mischievous ghost to ours.”
