Men worst liars on CV
MEN are much more likely to lie on their CV or LinkedIn profile than women, a survey shows.
One in eight jobseekers overall tells fibs when trying to impress recruiters.
Most of the lies occur in the “hobbies and interests” section, with one in 10 claiming to be fluent in a foreign language.
And the survey revealed that one in eight of us lists hobbies in which we never participate.
One in 20 even claims to do volunteering or charity work to appear a better person to potential employers, the poll by foreign language online teaching tool Babbel found.
Of those pretending to speak a foreign language proficiently, 71% were male and 29% female.
Of those who listed fictitious hobbies and interests, two-thirds (67%) were men and one-third (33%) were women.
