T-shirt’s a fitting Fun House tribute

-

FUN House has just celebrated its 33rd anniversary, with the first episode airing in February 1989.

So, to mark this momentous occasion, we’ve designed a new T-shirt – as modelled left by the actual twins from the show, Melanie & Martina.

The print features us all sitting on one of the Fun Karts and was taken as a press shot for the first show.

By the way, it’s available from the kings of retro tees, Truffle Shuffle.

We hosted every single programme over the 10 years that it ran on ITV.

Little did we know that it would go on to become one of the most successful kids’ shows ever.

Because it ran for a whole decade, most people I meet think that the three of us all lived together in the actual Fun House and that we slept in the ball pond.

Let me know when you’ve recovered from that weird thought and we can press on... The amount of time that we spent working on the show was just one week per year, so in total only 10 weeks!

We would record two shows per day for seven days, so with 14 shows in the can that’s three-and-a-half months’ worth of programmes, which equates to one series.

We had so many good times making the show, but the funniest thing was when the children would be all mouthy when they first met us the day before they were due to be contestants.

But when it came down to the nitty gritty in front of the cameras they often froze and were lost for words.

I guess if you were 12 at the time then you would also have been worried about how well you would have done chasing after tags to win the prizes.

To secure your chance to have me and the twins on your chest, head over to www.truffleshuffle.co.uk.

Well, it’s better than cough.
