Tuchel feels uneasy and awkward about competing for silverware – and celebrating should they win it.

He said: “Because it is so close and so fresh, with maybe bit of a bad conscience on Sunday. Are we allowed to fully engage and fully celebrate? Is this inappropriate?

“I have to say, this is how I feel about it because it is so new and so fresh. So it is a bit of a mixed feeling.”

However, Tuchel (above) is adamant he will not be tempted to use that inevitable adverse reaction to create a siege mentality within the camp of the World and European champions.

“In this case, I think the issue is too big. I understand the question but if you give it a second’s thought, I don’t see the point.”
