SHE might be married with a child but Ellie Goulding still knows about unrequited love.
That’s what her new song Easy Lover, remixed by Four Tet, is about: “The age-old tale of being infatuated by someone cool and beautiful, knowing that they will never quite feel the same.
“It’s about going back to the same dangerous person to feel alive when you know they have hurt people before you.”

THEY’VE been No1 for seven weeks, so now LF System have finally given up their day jobs. Scottish duo Sean Finnigan and Conor Larkman worked in a garage and as a roofing engineer respectively before topping the charts.
The 9-5 is behind Finnigan, who said: “We quit our jobs just before Afraid To Feel was released and not because we thought it was going to do so well, we were just ready to make the jump. But since then it’s been so crazy,
100 miles per hour.
“It’s a very different life from how it was a few months ago and we pinch ourselves every day, grateful that we get to call this a job. It’s been such a good experience. We’ve met so many great people, got to travel the world and had such a good time.”
The likes of Kate Bush, Harry Styles and Ed Sheeran have had to play second fiddle to their banger. “It’s honestly so surreal,” said Larkman. “We’ve been trying to put it into words recently and it’s too hard. “Never in a million years did we expect this to happen. We’re delighted. “Knocking Kate Bush off the top spot was also crazy. She congratulated us on getting our No1, we’re very thankful for that.” Afraid To Feel shows no sign of slowing down, with clubs in Europe blasting it out. Beaming Finnigan gushed: “We’ve had a really good summer in Ibiza, which we didn’t expect to be having, performing in places like Bora Bora, Amnesia and Eden. “If we could perform anywhere it would have to be Sub Club or DC10; two very important places that played a huge part in shaping us as artists and our sound.”
Now the important question: What comes next for LF System? Keeping their cards close to their chests, they said: “You can expect the same LF energy as always, along with some other very exciting things!”
