Bosses’ touchline melee after Morris lifts Hatters

- By ROBERT DUNFORD

ROB EDWARDS reckons Luton are dealing well with fatigue as they beat Swansea at Kenilworth Road.

A single strike by Carlton Morris was enough to put the Hatters fifth in the table.

The game was overshadowed by a late melee on the touchline that saw Swans boss Russell Martin and Luton assistant Richie Kyle dismissed. Boss Edwards thought it was passion boiling over but has faith his side are keeping going.

He said: “We probably lacked a little bit of energy and intensity, probably in the first 20-25 minutes.

“We deserved the goal but I’m a bit disappointed that we we didn’t go on and get the second.

“I think with the melee there was just a coming together, just a lot of passion. Me and Russell have just had a chat outside and it’s all fine.”

Luton took the lead six minutes before the break when Swans keeper Andy Fisher could not hold onto an Alfie Doughty cross and Morris pounced. Liam Cullen saw a goal disallowed before Martin and Kyle saw red. The Swans boss felt that referee Dean Whitestone overreacted.

He said: “Rob Edwards went on the pitch and I told him to get off it, and then Richie got involved.

“It just didn’t need to be two red cards to be honest. It happens every week on the touchline.
