SPRINTER WORTH STUDYING
DO your form homework and have a look at the claims of REVISION (4.15) when he lines up in the three-year-old sprint handicap at Hamilton this afternoon.
Trainer Kevin Ryan has a really good squad of second season performers this term and I’m sure he thought that this son of Ardad was going to be better than a 76-rated handicapper when he landed a Newcastle novice at the back end of 2022.
However, the combination of a slow pace and/or poor draws have seen the gelding hit the frame on only one of his subsequent four starts. That in turn, though, has seen his mark drop 4lb and there is little doubt he is capable of seeing off the likes of Hour By Hour.
That contest is one of seven races on ITV4 as part of the Sky Bet Sunday Series and by far the most competitive race on the Hamilton card is the fivefurlong handicap with the weights headed by Spoof.
The eight-year-old is sure to go well again, but may not be able to give the weight away to
OBJECT (5.45). Tim Easterby’s team are just beginning to click into gear and an eye-catching third at Thirsk last time suggests his turn is around the corner.
Dundory and Fairmac look sure to run well in the 13-furlong handicap, but the value lies with GEREMIA (6.15) only a pound higher than his last winning mark and coming off the back of a cracking fourth in a class two handicap at Newmarket.
FAYLAQ (6.45) has solid claims of defying his welter burden in the mile and a half handicap, while the best eachway play on the card has to be PISANELLO (5.15).
The last named has not been out of the first four on his eight starts, several in higher grade contests, and this looks his easiest task for some time.
GUY (2.35) hasn’t visited the winner’s enclosure since October 2020 when he won a handicap chase at Huntingdon.
Placed on nine occasions since then, the eight-year-old can teach his nine younger rivals a lesson in the novice hurdle at Ludlow.
