POP veteran Belinda Carlisle was ready to give up on music until a chance meeting with a songwritin­g legend.

The star is back with new EP Kismet featuring songs by one of the greatest living hitmakers – Diane Warren.

And the new music shook up her plans for retirement.

The former Go-Go’s lead singer, 64, said: “The way it happened was strange because I wasn’t planning to do anything else.

“I was ready to slow down, had done pretty much everything in my career, and then my son ran into Diane Warren.

I ended up recording five songs and calling the EP Kismet because that really encapsulat­es what happened. “All these weird coincidenc­es that lead me to singing.”
