SIMON WEAVER was impressed with Harrogate’s defending. James Belshaw saved Dean Campbell’s penalty, and Weaver said: “Barrow put dangerous balls into the box, but we were strong and resolute.

“We were streetwise defending set-pieces in trying conditions.”

Barrow boss Pete Wild said: “I am pleased with how we played, pleased with how we looked defensivel­y and it is another point closer to where we want to be.”

DANNY COWLEY was encouraged by Colchester’s personalit­y and character.

Cameron McGeehan (above) cancelled out Taylor Allen’s opener, while Noah Chilvers had a penalty saved.

Cowley said: “The whole 90 minutes gave me encouragem­ent, in terms of character.”

STEPHEN CLEMENCE revealed his squad had been ravaged by a sickness bug.

George Lapslie cancelled out Grimsby’s opener from Donovan Wilson and Clemence said: “I’ve got nine players who barely trained and three who have hardly eaten anything this week.

“I’ve never seen anything like it. Fair play to the players for performing the way they did. We’ll take the point and move on.”

David Artell said: “It’s another point on the board.”
