SCOTT LINDSEY admitted his Crawley players’ costly mistakes was a perfect illustrati­on of “shooting themselves in the foot”.

Two goals from Tom Hopper and one from Cameron McGeehan lifted Colchester, who had Samson Tovide sent off, out of the bottom two.

Crawley scored through Klaidi Lolos and Harry Forster, and Colchester boss Danny Cowley beamed: “They must have covered every blade of grass.”

Doncaster 4 Accrington 0

GRANT McCANN is determined not to discuss his side’s play-off hopes.

Hakeeb Adelakun, Joe Ironside, James Maxwell and Owen Bailey gave Doncaster an eighth straight win. McCann said: “I just want to finish the season strong and if it’s good enough to put us right in that top seven then great. If not, then that’s the way it is.”

Stanley boss John Doolan said: “They just had a bit more quality.”

Harrogate 2 Sutton 2

STEVE MORISON has vowed second-bottom Sutton will fight to the last to stay in the Football League.

Deon Moore’s late equaliser salvaged a point for United after George Thomson and Jack Muldoon goals overturned Harry Beautyman’s opener.

Morison said: “It’s out of our hands completely but we’ll keep fighting for as long as we’ve got a chance.”

Harrogate manager Simon Weaver said: “We’re proud as punch.”

Newport 1 Tranmere 2

GRAHAM COUGHLAN said his injury-hit Newport side have run out of energy and ideas.

The Exiles suffered a sixth successive defeat after Rob Apter’s brace cancelled out Will Evans’ opener. Coughlan said: “We’re on our knees. Everything that can go wrong is going wrong. We are not ourselves.”

Tranmere manager Nigel Adkins said of match-winner Apter: “He is a joy to watch.”

Stockport 2 Morecambe 0

DAVE CHALLINOR wants Stockport to win the title after securing promotion.

Isaac Olaofe and Fraser Horsfall scored.

Challinor said: “It feels great to get the promotion and it’s fully deserved for the hard work everyone at the club has put in but there is still work to do.”

Morecambe boss Ged Brannan said: “We never turned up in the first half and I was really disappoint­ed with that. I thought we showed character.”

Walsall 1 Notts County 3

MAT SADLER hopes a sense of injustice can drive Walsall’s play-off push. Mo Faal scored but Brandon Comley was dismissed against Notts County and boss Sadler said: “We feel like the world is against us, that the footballin­g gods are against us.”

After Macaulay Longstaff, Aaron Nemane and Sam Austin netted, County boss Stuart Maynard said: “I’m delighted for the boys.”

Crewe 0 Grimsby 3

DAVID ARTELL insisted there will be no let up as Grimsby search for the point to guarantee League Two football next term.

Toby Mullarkey, Curtis Thompson and Denver Hume hit the goals.

Artell said: “We’re not safe yet and we’ve got three big games left. We know what we need to do.”

Crewe boss Lee Bell said: “We’ve got to get back to doing what we’ve done for 99 per cent of the season.”

Gillingham 3 Barrow 0

STEPHEN CLEMENCE vowed Gillingham would not let-up in their play-off bid.

The hosts brushed aside Barrow, who were hampered by a first-half red card for George Ray. Josh Andrews opened the scoring, with Rory Feely’s own goal and Connor Mahoney’s effort sealing the win.

Clemence said:

“We go again next week.”

Barrow boss Pete Wild said: “It is obviously a red card, it is not the greatest challenge in the world.”

Milton Keynes 1 Mansfield 4

NIGEL CLOUGH warned Mansfield must keep the champagne on ice despite an emphatic win.

Max Dean put MK Dons ahead, but Mansfield hit back through Elliott Hewitt, Davis Keillor-Dunn (two) and James Gale. Clough, whose side can win promotion on Tuesday, said: “We’re not there yet.”

Dons boss Mike Williamson said: “It’s tough to take but Mansfield deserve a lot of credit.”

Salford 1 Bradford 2

KARL ROBINSON was relieved after Salford secured safety despite another defeat.

After Callum Hendry opened the scoring, Bradford responded through goals from Calum Kavanagh and Brad Halliday.

Robinson said: “I’m relieved now we are mathematic­ally safe.”

Bradford manager Graham Alexander said: “It was a quality all-round performanc­e but we have to improve in our consistenc­y.”

Swindon 3 Wimbledon 2

JOHNNIE JACKSON could not fault his AFC Wimbledon team after the loss at Swindon.

Joe Lewis scored the game’s first and last goals but Aaron Drinan and Dawson Devoy (two) won it for the hosts.

Jackson said: “The lads have given everything but not produced the quality.”

Swindon boss Gavin Gunning said: “We brought Dawson on at half-time and he changed the game.”

Wrexham 6 Forest Green 0

HOLLYWOOD stars Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney celebrated Wrexham’s promotion.

Elliot Lee opened the scoring against Forest Green before Paul Mullin scored twice, either side of Ryan Inniss’ own goal, with Ryan Barnett and Jack Marriott also on target.

Reynolds said on X: “A few years ago, if you told me I would be crying tears of joy over a football match taking place in north Wales, you would be Rob McElhenney.”
