THE British Secret Service needs a pensions expert to look after spies’ investments.

Bosses at MI5 are offering £43,957-ayear to a senior pensions specialist who can manage benefit packages for real-life James Bonds.

Applicants are warned they will have to deal with “complex queries” and take on “ad-hoc projects”.

An online ad states that looking after the retirement plans of the secretive staff involves “empathy and integrity”. The job description adds: “You will be able to take on ad-hoc projects and you’ll play a key role in the Pensions team, helping to give our current and former members of staff the peace of mind that a well-run pension brings.”

But potential candidates are warned MI5 has a “strict drugs policy”, meaning “once you start your application you can’t take any recreational drugs and you’ll need to declare your previous drug usage at the relevant stage”. Benefits include 25 days’ holiday, a cycle to work scheme plus access to facilities including a gym and restaurant.

Last month, we told how spy chiefs were looking to hire a team of people to battle assassins, poisoners and kidnappers sent to cause havoc on British streets by the Iranian regime.

And in March we revealed bosses were on the hunt for a weapons expert, like Q in the 007 movies.
