Sarah fears the dance contest

-

SARAH Greene snubbed a lucrative offer to take part in Strictly. The broadcasting legend is not keen to dance on live TV on Saturday nights. She told me: “I have been asked to do Strictly. But I’m a coward.

“I know that sounds weird because most of the things I’ve done have been live TV. But I like doing things where I can have some control.”

It’s not just Strictly that Sarah has turned down. She isn’t mad on having a crack at I’m A Celebrity or Celebrity Big Brother either.

She added: “I love watching reality shows.

“But I would rather have hot needles in my eyes than do some of them. I know I’d scratch my nose at the wrong time and it would look like I was having a big pick.”

She added: “I think it’s amazing that reality shows are called reality shows, because we all know that they’re not. There’s a camera there. And as soon as that happens it’s not actually real.

“Not really. It’s a version of real.

It’s a drama. That’s why I love watching them.”

Sarah has been back on the box hosting game show The Finish Line alongside Roman Kemp.

The series continues tomorrow at 4.30pm on BBC One.

SIMON

Cowell has got a great sense of humour.

When I bumped into him a few weeks ago, there was an awkward moment.

Just as we started talking, someone decided to remind him about a story I’d written about him that had caused a bit of drama.

But Simon wasn’t remotely bothered.

In fact, he insisted he thought the whole thing had been funny and he loved it. And he then shook my hand.

Simon is a lot of things, but prissy certainly isn’t one of them.
