Pack out the beaches in a 22C heatwave BIT HIT AND MIST
by EMILY HALL SUMMER landed yesterday as 22C Britain basked in the sunshine on one of the warmest days of the year so far.
Beaches heaved and parks were packed out as we finally got a taste of decent weather following weeks of chill.
But some missed out when beaches in Sussex, including Brighton and West Wittering, suddenly fell victim to a freak sea mist, forcing sunworshippers to head home early.
But the weather provided a great day for the majority.
Even girlband Little Mix topped the scorcher off with an ice cream as they soaked up the rays in London’s Soho Square.
Jade Thirlwall, 20, Jesy Nelson, Leigh-Anne Pinnock, both 21, and Perrie Edwards, 19, enjoyed treats in theheatastheytouredwiththeirown ice cream van.
They handed out scoops of the good stuff to bemused passers-by enjoying the spring weather.
And the summer scene was played out across Britain as Bank Holiday temperatures finally soared.
