POP babe Kylie Minogue has agreed a £500,000 deal to appear on struggling BBC talent show The Voice.

Telly bosses hope she will win the Saturday ratings battle with X Factor.

POP babe Kylie Minogue has agreed a £500,000 deal to appear on the BBC’s struggling talent show The Voice.

It was said the Aussie singer originally asked for £2.5million to star in the next series.

But BBC chiefs could not believe they were so lucky when she agreed to replace telly flop Jessie J for a rock-bottom price.

Show bosses hope Kylie, 45, will light up the screen with her famous smile and win over viewers in the Saturday night ratings battle with ITV’s The X Factor.

Kylie’s cut-price deal is on a par with fellow judge will.i.am, 38, while The X Factor judge Sharon Osbourne, 60, is on £2m.

The I Should Be So Lucky hitmaker said: “I’m very excited. I love the concept and have been an avid viewer of both series.

“Will I be competitive? Probably more than even I imagine.”

A senior BBC source said: “We cannot believe our luck in signing up Kylie for the show.

“People were saying she wanted mega-bucks, but Kylie doesn’t need the money and this isn’t about the cash.

“We are paying her a quarter of the money ITV are paying someone like Sharon Osbourne. “That has got to be a good deal.” Black Eyed Peas star will.i.am said Kylie would bring “new energy” to the show in January after the departure of Price Tag singer Jessie, 25.
