SHAUN LUNT insists Huddersfie­ld won’t bottle the play-off battle – because their coach knows every trick in the book.

The Giants have earned a reputation in recent years for wilting when the pressure is on.

But this year they finished top for the first time in 81 years to win the League Leaders’ Shield.

And Lunt is convinced that coach Paul “Baloo” Anderson knows how to keep them in the hunt for Grand Final glory.

Anderson, in his first full year as Giants coach, won three Grand Finals with Bradford and one with St Helens.

His team will earn a week off if they beat out-of-form Wigan in tonight’s qualifying play-off at the John Smith’s Stadium. But despite Huddersfie­ld’s table-topping feats, many pundits are still ruling them out of Old Trafford success.

Lunt says he isn’t bothered because the players themselves know that they can go all the way.

He added: “We have got belief as a team and as individual­s. People have written us off in the past but we are looking to put that right.”

Wigan centre Darryl Goulding has been ruled out of tonight’s game with his second head injury in three weeks.

Winger Josh Charnley admits Wigan are desperate for a win after losing their last four league games, saying: “We have had a bit of a blip.”
