RADIO 1 STAR’S FURY AT ‘CHEESY’ X FACTOR
X FACTOR judge Nick Grimshaw has declared war on his boss Simon Cowell.
Less than a week after starting on the panel, radio star Grimmy has let rip.
He has admitted he was unhappy when producers played the Robbie Williams hit Rock DJ as he walked out to judge at auditions in Manchester last week.
Nick, 30, used his Radio 1 breakfast show to moan about the “cheesy” choice to listeners.
And show insiders predict Nick will regularly bash the decisions made by top execs, including Simon, 55, once The X Factor is back on the box next month.
Earlier this month he warned bosses he will not hold back when he goes live every weekday morning. Vowing to spill the beans after each weekend’s live shows in the autumn, Nick said: “Think how good Mondays are going to be on this show.”
He said he plans to be “well gossipy” before adding: “I’ll tell you what actually went down.”
A show source said: “Grimmy is obviously not going to hold back. He’s not scared of Cowell.”
But Cowell’s pal Sinitta, 51, slammed the decision to hire Nick in an interview yesterday.
She told Closer: “I don’t get Simon’s decision to choose Nick Grimshaw. He can’t sing. How can he judge other singers?”
Auditions continue today at Wembley’s SSE Arena.
