Beast who murdered son found in jail cell

A MONSTER mum jailed for the torture and murder of her son has been found dead in prison.

Warders discovered evil Magdelena Luczak, 29, slumped in her cell in an early morning check.

There are no suspicious circumstances and she is thought to have killed herself.

It is believed the Pole, who inflicted “incomprehensible” cruelty on Daniel Pelka, four, could not face her 30year jail sentence.

She was convicted of killing the starved and beaten boy in 2012.

Judge Laura Cox was so sickened by the brutality that she imposed a minimum term of 30 years – the same as child killer Beverley Allitt.

Last night there was no official confirmation of how she died. There will be an inquest and a prisons watchdog investigation.

She was found “unresponsive” in her cell at HMP Foston Hall in Derby yesterday just after 7am.

A Ministry of Justice spokesman said last night: “As with all deaths in custody there will be an investigation by the independent Prisons and Probation Ombudsman.” Luczak and Daniel’s stepdad Mariusz Krezolek, 34, were given the same jail sentences following their trial, which heard the child was beaten to death following years of mistreatment.

Last December the Court of Appeal threw out the pair’s claims that their sentences were “excessive”.

Daniel was forced to forage for scraps of food from the school bin and stole lunch from other pupils in a bid to survive.

Despite his weight falling to 1.5 stone, he was ignored by numerous agencies because of stressed staff and bad record-keeping.

During the trial, the court heard Daniel was left to die over an agonising 33-hour period while the pair, of Coventry, tried to cover their tracks after he suffered a blow to the head.
