PSG’S £50m ANGEL BID

-

for games but has been promised regular starts in Paris. PSG bosses have held provisional talks with Di Maria’s camp and are willing to meet his wage demands of £200,000 a week.

It is understood Van Gaal is reluctant to sell Di Maria but will agree to let him go if the winger wants to leave.

He is on holiday following the Copa America but is due to meet up with Van Gaal’s squad during the latter stages of United’s pre-season tour of America.

PSG are going on a US tour of their own and want Di Maria involved but it remains to be seen if a deal can be struck in time.

United are due to face PSG in Chicago at the end of this month and club officials could use the meeting to thrash out the transfer. United broke the British record when they signed Di Maria from Real Madrid last summer in a £60m deal.

He made a blistering start to his Old Trafford career and was hailed as one of the signings of the decade.

But a loss of form saw the winger dropped from the team, failing to start any of the final seven games of last season.

To make matters worse he suffered a break-in at his Cheshire home while his family were inside and admitted the incident had been hard to cope with.

He has struggled to adapt to life in Manchester and would like a new beginning in the French capital to kickstart his faltering career.
