Jacklin’s Jug fears

He said: “I suppose the same must have been happening when I was playing but I didn’t have time to spot future heroes, I was too busy trying to beat people.
“I was immersed in my own dreams but undoubtedly Jack Nicklaus and Lee Trevino were my big rivals. But then somebody from over there always seems to pop up.
“It is a continually changing scene and right now America has been making tremendous strides in terms of developing new talent and there are a couple in their early twenties there who haven’t made their mark.
“Spieth is a phenomenon. I can’t see beyond him this week.”
