‘Poison plot of ginger militant’

-

A RIGHT-wing extremist who felt bullied because of his ginger hair plotted a cyanide attack to put “a major dent in England”, a court heard.

Mark Colborne, 37, compared himself to terrorists Timothy McVeigh and Anders Breivik as he planned to spray poison at “non-Aryan” victims, jurors heard.

Colborne stockpiled cyanide ingredients in his bedroom at the home he shared with his mother in Southampton.

But his plans were foiled when his half-brother Kevin tipped off police, the Old Bailey was told.

His bedroom had books about poisons and explosives titled Silent Death, Assorted Nasties, and The Poor Man’s James Bond, the court heard.

Detectives also found spray bottles which could be used to squirt cyanide.

Colborne’s notes included: “I will put a major dent in England. I’m looking for major retribution.”

Annabel Darlow, prosecuting, said: “He referred to his hatred for those who are non-Aryans.

“He compared himself to the right-wing extremists Timothy McVeigh, responsible for the atrocity in Oklahoma, and Anders Breivik.”

Breivik killed 76 people in bomb and gun attacks in Norway in 2011 and 168 people died in the 1995 Oklahoma bombing.

Colborne denies preparing terrorist acts. The trial continues.
