WHAT’S HOT TO WATCH TODAY
IF, as part of their 60th anniversary celebrations, ITV are putting together a show called Soap’s Greatest Turn-Ons – and I can’t imagine they wouldn’t be – then Tracy Barlow comes out with a serious contender for the No.1 slot in tonight’s CORONATION STREET (7.30pm & 8.30pm, ITV).
“I smell of jail,” she moans to Robert, after he’s fetched her from her grilling down at Weatherfield nick. Intentional or not, his reaction suggests she should maybe get herself banged up a fair bit longer and soak up more of that seductive whiff. Maybe she won’t have much choice.
For now, though, the rubbish soap cops have let her go, because they basically don’t have a scrap of evidence to link her with the fatal fire at Carla’s flat. All they have is the confession Tracy made to Carla on Monday, up at that rather pretty quarry – and she’s now telling them she made that all up, just to stop Carla topping herself.
Elsewhere, Jason is determined to get back to work rather than mope about his injuries. And Gail’s building job seems the perfect opportunity. She’s worried he’d be taking on too much, mind you. But at least this allows her to come out with a suggestive remark all of her own. “I don’t want you making yourself ill on my conversion,” she purrs. ELSEWHERE tonight, over on Channel 4, we’ve got the return of GOGGLEBOX (9pm) and ALAN CARR: CHATTY MAN (10.05pm). Alan’s guests include the guy who’s playing 60s gangster Reggie Kray in the new film Legend, namely Tom Hardy, and the guy who’s playing Reggie’s twin brother Ronnie, namely Tom Hardy.
