PREMIER LEAGUE PARTY’S OVER Jack’s grown up

- By DAVE ARMITAGE

TIM SHERWOOD has told party boy Jack Grealish there will be no more lectures.

The Aston Villa boss didn’t lose any sleep worrying that his young gun would be having a wild time on his 20th birthday last night.

Grealish has already been involved in a number of scrapes and angered Sherwood for his wild summer holiday escapades.

He was pictured lying face down in the street on a break in Tenerife with pals and was then snapped lying next to a £1,000 bottle of vodka.

Grealish was also accused of getting high on ‘hippy crack’.

Sherwood says he won’t be dishing out any more advice to his wayward youngster and said: “Surely I haven’t got to warn him anymore?

“There are plenty more birthdays out there for him to celebrate after he’s finished (playing).

“All I try to influence him on is what he does when he’s here and playing.

“I haven’t seen any repeat of those events and so I can’t complain.

“Unfortunately he picked up an ankle injury the day before the Sunderland game. We’re hoping he might be able to get himself fit for this weekend and certainly the derbies coming up.

“He’ll be in the squad for the Leicester game (on Sunday) – as long as nothing happens… overnight!

“I like to play down young talent. So you need to dampen expectations, but Jack is exceptional.”

Grealish is at the centre of a fierce tug-of-war between England and Republic of Ireland for his services.

Sherwood is refusing to be dragged into the debate over where his allegiance should lie at international level.

He added: “I’ve spoken to Roy Hodgson, Martin O’Neill, Jack and his father. I have said it is not my decision to make.

“It is up to those three parties to fight it out – leave me out of it.

“In his heart of hearts, he has to decide whether he is English or Irish.

“Both countries are doing a good job, with both managers having a hard enough job trying to win games – let alone convincing players to join them.”
