NEW SHOW CHAOS

JEREMY Clarkson struggled to get to his new motoring show’s first day of filming yesterday after a boozy night out.

And co-star James May really did look battered – he turned up with his arm in a sling and joked: “It’s the drink.”

FANS poked fun at boozy Jeremy Clarkson for struggling to get to his new motoring show’s first day of filming.

And co-star James May also reported for duty battered and bruised with his arm in a sling, joking: “It’s the drink.”

The pair went on a bender after Sunday’s final live Top Gear gig at the O2 Arena, also featuring Richard Hammond.

But the boozy session was just the night before the first day of shooting their new Amazon car show. The trio had wowed crowds at the London venue and finished off with a rousing rendition of Mustang Sally.

But afterwards Jezza, 55, and May, 52, hit the town. Clarkson tweeted: “Everything going very well on our first big shoot. Except two of us can’t get to the location. And the one that can is broken.”

May was spotted at London’s St Pancras station yesterday morning looking the worse for wear with his arm bandaged up.

When asked how he had picked up the injury, he replied: “I fell over, it’s the drink.”

Fans were quick to poke fun at Clarkson after he revealed he had failed to turn up for filming.

One simply asked: “Hungover?” Another said: “Back to normal. Lovely. Looking forward to the finished, professional product.”

The post-show drinks came after the trio finished off their live tour with the Wilson Pickett song, which saw Hammond on guitar and Jezza on drums.

A spokesman for Clarkson did not comment last night.
