WHAT’S HOT TO WATCH TODAY

- MIKE WARD

A CRACK-OF-DAWN delivery to Twit HQ offers a clue as to what’s in store this week for our eight remaining candi-twits in THE APPRENTICE (9pm, BBC1).

It turns out to contain high-vis vests, hard hats etc. That, plus a note telling them to assemble at the top of London’s 155-metre South Bank Tower.

So, does Lord Sugar plan to dangle them over the edge for a bit of a giggle? Sadly, no. But he does have a challenge directly relating to the place he’s summoned them to, which makes a change.

“You’re going to sell the priciest product of them all,” he announces.

And before any of them reply: “What, you mean Christmas trees, Al?”, he clarifies what he means by adding the word “property”.

The 70s-built South Bank Tower, he explains, is getting 11 new floors of luxury apartments, worth millions. And yes, he actually wants these people standing in front of him, some of whom could barely organise a kids’ birthday party only a week ago, to do the selling. Well, some of them.

Two from each team are given other, cheaper properties to shift, including studio flats for a mere £320,000. This in itself proves a challenge.

“Use all your tools,” the guy from the developers advises Brett and Scott, “and you’ll get some sales.”

In response to that word “tools”, a grinning Brett points at Scott and quips: “This is the biggest one we’ve got!”

Mind you, it soon looks as if he may have a point... ELSEWHERE, Sarah gets run over in an hour-long CORONATION STREET (7.30pm, ITV) and then finds out at the hospital that she’s four months pregnant.
