Old Saints plea

- By ALEX CROOK

for tonight’s Capital One Cup quarterfinal, said: “I’m absolutely satisfied with our goalkeeper situation.

“I’m sorry to kill your stories about German goalkeepers and different goalkeepers from Stoke or wherever.

“We are not looking for another goalkeeper. We have enough. Mignolet is one of the smartest I’ve ever had.”

Bogdan has been the regular League Cup stand-in and is set to play again tonight.

Daniel Sturridge and Jordan Henderson will be on the bench again, both returning from injury as substitutes during the win over Swansea on Sunday.

Sturridge has made just 10 league starts in the last 16 months and Klopp says the England forward has to trust the club to manage his fitness.

He said: “If you have more injuries, you have more doubt.

“No one is alone at Melwood. We have to trust each other. That is when we all learn together and get better.” SOUTHAMPTON’S boo-boys have been ordered to go easy on Liverpool trio Nathaniel Clyne, Adam Lallana and Dejan Lovren on their return tonight.

Lallana and Lovren became hate figures on the south coast after forcing moves to Anfield last year.

England right-back Clyne followed his former team-mates in the summer after threatening to let his contract run down.

Saints fans are preparing a red-hot reception for them tonight but boss Ronald Koeman said: “It is possible that will fire them up. I think every ex-player of Southampton needs respect.

“Maybe the situation with Lallana and Lovren was a bit more difficult than the situation of Clyne when he left the club.”

Koeman has also challenged the Saints board to back him in the transfer market and ensure current stars do not join the now annual summer exodus.
