Unite to make Britain great again BREXIT TIME FOR

Gove sets up new law to thwart ‘rogue’ EU courts

BREXIT Britain will be able to kick out foreign criminals, spongers and terror suspects within months.

Legislation will be fast-tracked allowing the Government to take back control of our borders.

Officials previously believed that freeing our courts from the grip of the EU would take years.

But Leave camp bosses reckon Britain could bypass their rule quicker by rolling out our own special laws in the meantime.

Ministers will this week gather around the table with Eurocrats to speed up getting control back from Brussels.

The move for our laws to trump “rogue” courts in Europe would free the police to deport foreign criminals. Justice Secretary Michael Gove last night said: “We’ve stressed throughout the day after we vote to leave, nothing fundamental changes and we still have the same trading arrangements and we start a process of informal talks and negotiations with our European partners.

“But there are some things that we can change relatively quickly. And one of the things we can do is that we can deal with the European Court of Justice, which has become a rogue court.”

It is thought the Government would first have to implement a British Bill of Rights.

Tory MP Andrew Bridgen, who fought for the Leave campaign, said: “The public have spoken and now deserve action.

“They took the bold decision to leave the EU and I salute them for that. Leave campaigners are keen to reward the public for showing such faith in them by introducing some immediate changes that will start to put Britain back in control.”

Vote Leave players including Brexit campaigner Iain Duncan Smith are expected to gather this afternoon to plan their bid to wrestle back powers from Brussels.

And the Business Secretary Sajid Javid says he will hold a meeting this week with business leaders.

Yesterday Boris Johnson assembled his troops as he prepared to launch his bid to become Britain’s next Prime Minister.

He gathered with his fellow MPs from the Leave camp at his Oxfordshire home. Mr Johnson is the favourite to be new Tory Leader with Mr Gove and Home Secretary Theresa May both in the running.

The Brexit moves have sparked panic among migrants in Calais.

British holidaymakers have told how they have been ambushed by gangs who have piled branches on to motorways to try to get in cars.
