I CANNOT stand my boyfriend’s new flatmate.

She only moved in a few weeks ago, but she’s already making trouble.

I’m convinced she wants him for herself. Therefore she sabotages everything I do.

She “accidentally” walks in on us when we’re making love.

The other night I cooked a special meal for my man. She waltzed in, helped herself to a plateful and sat with us all night. I was fuming.

Later (I was staying over) I discovered my cosmetics bag had “accidentally” been knocked into the toilet and my jacket had red nail varnish all over it.

I can’t prove she was behind any of these “accidents” as three other people also live in the flat, but it’s pretty obvious.

My fella insists I’m paranoid and says she’d never do anything to upset me

I drive myself crazy imaging them having sex behind my back, but I’m also genuinely scared she’s going to hurt me. JANE SAYS: You’ve got to lay your cards on the table and tell your boyfriend that you’re not playing this game any more.

Either he’s deliberately turning a blind eye or he’s plain stupid, but how can he possibly not notice what is going on? Make it clear that you’re not clumsy or paranoid. His flatmate resents you. She’s eaten up with jealousy. So what is he going to do about it?

Will he talk to her? Tell her off? Give her notice?

However, if you genuinely think there may be something sexual between them – or that she’s actually dangerous – then I suggest you tell him “Goodbye” and get your life back.
