CELEBRITY Big Brother champion Stephen Bear is set to go back in the house next year with some familiar faces from the past.
Channel 5 is planning a “Gold Stars Vs New Stars” series in which seven former CBB housemates will compete against seven new celebs.
Latest winner Bear is being tipped as a contender along with sex-mad Blue singer Lee Ryan and US duo Spencer Pratt and Heidi Montag.
A source said: “It’s a genius idea that has never been done before.
“Channel 5 wants to do a show that gives a nod to the past but also has a fresh edge with new people too.
“The celebrities who have done the show before could repeat what they did in the house last time hoping it will curry favour with the fans but the newbies will be quick to call them out as being ‘old dogs with old tricks’.”
Bosses are drawing up a list of oldies but they have plenty of memorable stars to choose from including funnyman Les Dennis, Bollywood queen Shilpa Shetty, gobby Apprentice star Katie Hopkins, model Kate Price, 80s rock star Pete Burns, US showbiz blogger Perez Hilton, Big Fat Gypsy Weddings star Paddy Doherty and former gameshow host Michael Barrymore.
Channel 5 chiefs are keen to give the reality show a big shake-up.
The latest series – which ended on Friday – had plenty of controversy and sex action, but it drew an average of only around 1.5million viewers per night.
Friday’s final pulled in just 1.7m – one of the lowest ever.
Yesterday Jewish X Factor singer Katie Waissel finally broke her silence about her feelings towards Christopher Biggins, who was removed from the CBB house after making a sick joke about Nazi gas chambers and showers.
She said he was a “nasty, nasty person” and his quip was “disrespectful to me, my ancestors and every family with history” linked to the Holocaust.
