Wales hero in danger

- By JAMES DOBSON

THREAT: Robson-Kanu ® CHRIS COLEMAN has warned Hal Robson-Kanu’s spot in the Wales team is under threat after failing to find a new club.

Robson-Kanu, 27, starred in the Euros but has not played a game since.

The free agent striker has received offers from home and abroad but is still weighing up his next move.

Wales begin their World Cup qualifying campaign against Moldova a week today and boss Coleman said: “We know what Hal’s capable of.

“In the training sessions and the preparation I’ll know who’s really on it and ready to play.

Hangover

“I’ll look at the players, see who’s ready physically and psychologically. If I have to upset one or two it’s not the first time I’ve done it.”

Robson-Kanu, 27, scored twice as Wales marched to the semi-finals.

Coleman says the Dragons can ill afford to suffer a hangover following their exploits in France.

Wales are without injured key man Aaron Ramsey for the opening game but Coleman added: “We’ve threatened before, promised everything and then delivered nothing.” THE Big Sam era gets under way for England on Sunday when the Three Lions begin their World Cup qualifying campaign with a trip to Slovakia.

The bookies expect Big Sam to be flying back home with three points. 188BET are Evens for the England win with the draw 9/4 and Slovakia around 3/1. A 2-0 win for England is 15/2 with a more nervy 2-1 win at 43/10. A repeat of the 0-0 draw between these two teams at Euro 2016 that prevented England topping their group in France is 34/5. But England had 28 shots on goal that day.

England are hot favourites to walk through their qualifying group and are 3/10 to win it. Slovakia follow at 5/1 while Scotland are the third favourites at 9/1.
